SUPPORTING DEVICE FOR INGOT OUTLET OF MOVING MOLD TYPE CONTINUOUS CASTING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To improve the safety of a casting operation by disposing gas injection ports for forming gas curtains to a casting machine in the position nearer the casting machine side from cooling water injection ports. CONSTITUTION:Knife blocks 11 and frames 12 are provided to a supporting device 10 for the outlet of the casting machine, and rollers 13, 14 to grasp an ingot 5 are attached to the respective blocks and frames. Conduit ports 15 and grooves 16 for injecting cooling water and air to the ingot 5 are respectively disposed to the top and bottom surfaces of the blocks 11. The air injection ports 16 are provided on the casting space 3 side of the casting machine than the cooling water injection ports 15 and are constituted of U-shaped recesses to enclose the ports 15. The gases ejected from the ports 16 form the gaseous curtain to prevent the splashing and intrusion of the cooling water into the casting machine. The safety of the casting operation is thus improved.
