PURPOSE:To protect a scale and to perform the measuring operation smoothly by providing band-shaped spiral springs between both ends of a guide rail having the scale and winding devices in the left and the right of a measurer supporting member which is moved back and forth along the rail. CONSTITUTION:When the shape or the like of an object 18 to be measured is measured, a measurer 17 is brought into contact with prescribed positions of the object 18 successively. Displacement quantities in X, Y, and Z-axis directions of the measurer 17 are detected by a displacement quantity detecting unit 33 etc. and are measured. A band-shaped constant pressure spring whose one end is coiled is used as a scale protecting device 8, and two protecting devices 8 are provided between both end parts of a guide rail 4 having a scale 7 and both sides of a measurer supporting member 9. Consequently, the scale 7 is always covered with protecting devices 8 to prevent the dirt and the break of the scale 7, and the measurer supporting member 9 is slid smoothly. |
