PURPOSE:To regulate the amount of fuel in a pump chamber and prevent generation of bubbles in the pump chamber by utilizing an amount regulating plunger in the unit injector. CONSTITUTION:A pressurizing main pump chamber 41 is communicated with a pressurizing sub pump chamber 42 through the communicating path 4 of the amount regulating plunger 40. Compressed fuel in the pressurizing main pump chamber 41 flows into the pressurizing sub pump chamber 42 through the communicating path 44 and pushes the amount regulating plunger 40 downwardly. When the plunger 40 is pushed downwardly, the fuel in an injection pump chamber is compressed and the compressed fuel is sent into a fuel reservoir 22. Thus, the fuel is sent into the injection pump chamber without choking extremely when the amount of the fuel is regulated in the injection pump chamber, therefore, generation of bubbles in the injection pump chamber may be reduced. |
