<p>PURPOSE:To enable magnetic recording having high density and high resolution in the present video tape recorder system by using any of metallic magnetic powder and Co-stuck iron oxide magnetic powder as ferromagnetic powder, and controlling its particle size, axial ratio, and coercive force in a specified value or specified range. CONSTITUTION:Metallic magnetic powder is exemplified by Fe, Ni, Co, Cr, Fe- Co-Ni, Fe-Ni-Zn, Fe-Mn-Zn, and the like metals or alloys. The particle diameter of the ferromagnetic powder is <=500nm for high-density recording, and, preferably, <=300nm. When the ferromagnetic powder is metallic type magnetic powder, since its axial ratio is as small as 1.3-4.5, and its coercive force is 550-800 Oe, preferably, 580-700, it can be used in the present video tape recorder system, and its high intrinsic saturation magnetization of the metallic magnetic powder can be utilizied. As a result, a magnetic recording medium having high output can be obtained.</p> |
