PURPOSE:To expand and contract a picture only by using a memory enabled to store picture data for one page by processing the picture data successively from the line farthest from the center of an original picture. CONSTITUTION:In case of expansion, original picture data are read out from a line L1 of an original picture storing area 21 and processed and the processed data for two lines are stored in the lines l1, l2 of a processed picture storing area 22. Subsequently, the original picture of a line L2 are processed and the processed data are stored in lines l3, l4. When the original picture data are processed succesively up to the line Lm and the processed data are stored, the expansion of the upper half of the original picture data in the original picture storing area 21 is completed. In order to expand the lower half, the original picture data are processed in the order of lines L1'-Lm' and the processed data are stored in the lines ll'-lm' of the processed data storing area 22. |
