A compound of the formula: <IMAGE> (I) wherein R is a lower alkyl group substituted with two or three fluorine atoms and X is a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group or a trifluoromethyl group, which is useful as a herbicide against a variety of weeds with a high selectivity to cotton, wheat and rice plants.
