COMPOUND WORD INPUT METHOD FOR DOCUMENT EDITING AND CORRECTING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To facilitate an input of compound words by displaying candidate KANJI (Chinese character) trains separately for KANJI and phrases respectively to the input character trains of compound words and giving the selection input processing for each candidate KANJI train. CONSTITUTION:The reading of compound words is fed, and the reading train of compound words is decomposed into reading trains having coincidence with the largest length. The candidate KANJI or phrases corresponding to each reading train are retrieved and displayed in a display frame 73 of a screen 70. With selective push of each key, the corresponding phrase is selected in a sentence region 74 and then registered for input.
