PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of the block by a method wherein a spectacles type plate member is arranged on the stepped part of the upper surface around the bores of the main body of the cylinder block and the upper ends of wet-type liners are secured to the inside of the spectacles type plate while the lower parts thereof are fixed to the lower surfaces of the bores by tight-fitting. CONSTITUTION:The stepped part 4 is provided on the upper surface around the bores 2 of the main body 1 of the cylinder block, formed with water jacket 3 at the periphery thereof while the spectacles-type plate member 7, equipped with an engaging groove 6 at the inner peripheral side lower part thereof and holes 5 corresponding to the bores 2, is arranged on the stepped part 4. The upper end of the wet-type liner 8 is engaged with the engaging groove 6 by tight-fitting while the squeeze-out part is secured by welding at welded place 8. On the other hand, the lower part of the wet-type liner 8 is fixed to the lower surface around the bores 2 by tight-fitting and a seal member 10 is provided on the upper end of the fixing part. |
