<p>A shock mounting assembly has a grommet for holding a plate assembled on a threaded stud mounted to a base. The grommet has an annular recess for receiving the plate. The grommet is field on the stud by a plastic nut having a sleeve portion extending through grommet, a central flange portion extending over the end of the grommet and a shaped end portion, such as a hex head. The sleeve portion of the nut has internal threads formed on its inner surface by deformation caused by rotation of the nut on the stud during assembly.</p> |
