PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of drain condensing in a keyway relief groove and to prevent the erosion of the keyway by a method wherein the position of a diaphragm packing is made to lie closer to the upstream side than the groove between turbine disks. CONSTITUTION:The diaphragm packing 5 is provided at a position closer to the upstream side than the groove 12 between the end faces of the turbine disks 3. As a consequence, the pressure and the temperature at the inlet port of the groove are lowered so that the temperature difference between the keyway 13 and the wall surface of the keyway relief groove 6 is reduced to thereby reduce the amount of condensation of steam. |
