PURPOSE:To prevent the short-circuit of cooling water and improve the cooling efficiency of the engine by a method wherein a communicating part of water jackets is provided at the most distant place from an inlet pipe and an outlet pipe, which are located on a water flow regulating plate, partitoning an inlet pipe side and an outlet pipe side in the water jackets of an engine block. CONSTITUTION:The engine block Ea is provided with the inlet pipe 26 side water jacket, formed between the inside wall 8 and the outside wall 9 of a cylinder block 5, and the outlet pipe 27 side water jacket, formed between a cylinder head 12 and a head cover 15. Both water jackets are partitoned by the water flow regulating plate 33 while a notch 34, which serves as the communicating part, is provided at the most distant side from the inlet pipe 26 and the outlet pipe 27 on the water flow regulating plate 33. |
