PURPOSE:To cancel the nonlinear component and at the same time to reduce the power consumption, by applying bias magnetic fields adverse to each other to each of paired magneto-resistance effect elements, then extracting differentially an output out of the middle point of series connection of said magneto-resistance effect elements. CONSTITUTION:MR elements MRn1, MR11, MR21-MRm1 and MRn2, MR12, MR22-MRm2 are formed with a metallic thin film of an E-shape having a magneto-resistance effect such as an Ni-Fe alloy, or Ni-Co alloy thin film 21. Then both outside foot parts 211 and 212 of the film 21 are connected to lines l1 and l2 to which voltages V1 and V2 are applied respectively, and signal extracting elements tsn, ts1, ts2-tsm are led out of a center foot part 21s. Then MR elements MRn1 and MRn2 are formed between foot parts 211 and 21s as well as between 21s and 21s2 of the film 21. Then the bias magnetic fields adverse to each other are applied to the elements MRn1 and MRn2 with a desired angle dissident in the directions of the current of these MR elements, e.g., with an angle orthogonal to these current directions. |
