IMMUNOASSAY FOR ONCOFETAL ANTIGEN CARRIED BY LYMPHOCYTES

An immunoassay, to be carried out in a semi-quantita-tive or quantitative manner, to determine the amount of an oncofetal antigen associated with peripheral blood mononuclear cells, in which a competitive binding immunoassay for the antigen is carried out using labeled antibody and wherein analogous mononuclear cells carrying a defined amount of the antigen are used as a positive quality control reagent. A diagnostic kit comprising the necessary reagents is also disclosed.
