METHOD OF PRODUCING PRESSURE TUBES

A method of producing pressure tubes for use in heavy water reactor, advanced thermal reactor or the like. The method includes the following two steps conducted at the final stage of the production process for producing the pressure tube: (1) step of effecting a grinding on over the entire inner surface of the tube or on the inner surface at the end portion of the tube; and (2) step of treating the ground tube in an autoclave of hot water to form an oxide film. By adopting these two additional steps, it is possible to avoid the delayed hydrogen cracking which is liable to be caused by the sand particles embedded in the tube surface during the production of the tube blank.
