PURPOSE:To increase movement, and to enable operation at high speed by driving a piezoelectric linear motor by utilizing deflection deformation or torsion deformation by a piezoelectric element. CONSTITUTION:A piezoelectric linear motor is constituted of two shafts 10, 12 disposed in parallel, shift clamp sections 14, 16, which are each mounted to the shafts 10, 12 and freely expanded or shrunk independently, and a piezoelectric bimorph element 18 connecting the clamp sections. Consequently, the bimorph element 18 is deflected and deformed in the direction corresponding to the polarity of voltage having predetermined polarity when the voltage is applied to the bimorph element 18, and the bimorph element is returned to an original state when the application of the voltage is released. Accordingly, deflection deformation drives the shaft clamp sections 14, 16 in the axial direction, and can move them. |
