PURPOSE:To obtain a non-photo-sensitive picture recording material capable of performing recording at low voltage by a method in which an imagery electric current distribution is given to a picture recording layer containing a reducible metal compound, a reducing agent, and a specific compound, provided on a conductive supporter, in such a way as to form a latent image and then the picture recording layer is heated to form a visible picture. CONSTITUTION:An electric current distribution in a sufficient amount to form a latent image is given by using a needle electrode 16 to the picture recording layer 10 of a picture recording material having one or more picture recording layers 10 containing a reducible metal compound (e.g., silver laurate, etc.), a reducing agent (e.g., p-phenyl phenol, etc.) to reduce the reducible metal compound, and a compound of the formula (where R1, R2, and R3 are each H., OH, a halogen, or an alkyl, R4 is a 1-6C alkylene, R5 is an alkyl or aryl, X1 and X2 are each O or S, and n is an integer of 1-4). The picture recording layer 10 is heated on a heating platen 20 to form a visible picture corresponding to the latent image. |
