PURPOSE:To obtain a non-photo-sensitive picture recording material capable of giving recording at low voltage by a method in which an imagery electric current distribution is given to a picture recording layer containing a reducible metal compound, a reducing agent, and thioether, provided on a supporter, in such a way as to form a latent image, and the picture recording layer is heated to form a visible picture. CONSTITUTION:An electric current distribution in a sufficient amount to form a latent image is given by using a needle electrode 16 to the picture recording layer 10 of a picture recording material having at least a picture recording layer containing a reducible metal compound (e.g., silver laurate, etc.), a reducing agent (e.g., p-phenyl phenol, etc.) to reduce the metal compound, and a compound of the formula (where R<1> is an alkyl or aryl, R<2> and R<3> are each H, an alkyl, or aryl, Z is OH, carboxyl, or carbamoyl, and k is an integer of 1-8). The picture recording layer 10 is heated on a heating platen 20 to form a visible picture corresponding to the latent image. |
