PURPOSE:To obtain a coloring matter to give a recording of clear cyanine color having good transferability and excellent light resistance as well as a great coloring power in a sublimation type heat-sensitive recording system using a coloring matter of a specific structural formula. CONSTITUTION:A coloring matter for heat-sensitive transfer recording, represented by the formula I (where R and R' are each methyl, ethyl, propyl, or butyl), e.g., the compound of the formula II, is mixed with a rosin of resin, etc., a solvent of isopropanol, etc., and water to prepare an ink. The ink is coated on a base material to form a transfer recording sheet. The sheet thus obtained is superposed on a material to be recorded and heated and pressed from the back of the sheet by a heat-sensitive recording head so that the transfer and recording of the coloring matter of the sheet are made on a material to be recorded. |
