PURPOSE:To apply continuously a pattern having excellent accuracy to a belt- like body by attaching both side ends of an annular belt which is punched with a geometrical pattern and travels in parallel with the belt-like body under travel to an annular toothed belt and receiving the driving force of gears in the toothed belt. CONSTITUTION:A belt 13 which is attached with toothed belts 14, 14' on the right and left and has slits 12 is driven together with gears 15a, 15b, 15c, 15d, 15a', 15b', 15c', 15d' by a driving device. Steel shot 17 is flasted, via the belt 13, by an impeller 16 to impart the strain conforming to the shape of the slits 12 to a steel strip 11. The traveling speed of the steel strip from a pinch roll 23 is inputted to an arithmetic control device 24, by which said speed is compared with the driving speed of the belt 13 and the traveling speed of the belt 13 is so controlled as to synchronize with the traveling speed of the steel strip. Since the driving force of the belt 13 is entirely borne in the tooth parts of the belts 14, 14', the slits 12 of the belt 13 are kept free from deformation. |
