PURPOSE:To obtain a light-weight titled cable in the stable flocked state and suitable for protecting flexible shafts used for measuring instruments by a method wherein a synthetic resin-made pipe is widened from a cut-out part in the axial direction thereof to effect flocking through electrostatic processing, and the widened part is then restored to the original pipe shape. CONSTITUTION:An axial cut-out 4 is cut using a roll cutter 3 in a synthetic resin-made pipe 1 fabricated with extrusion molding, etc. while axially moving the pipe 1 by means of plural tension rolls 2, etc. The pipe 1 is then widened into a planar shape by means of smooth rolls 6, etc. with the cut-out 4 being widened using a widening rod 5, etc. Next, adhesives 8 are applied to the pipe 1' widened into a planar shape, flock 10 are formed on the adhesive coated surface using an electrostatic flocking apparatus, and then the adhesives 8 are dried to be hardened while passing through a drier 11. Subsequently, the pipe 1' widened into a planar shape is restored to its original round shape by, for example, passing the pipe through a reforming bore 15 formed in the drier 11. Braiding 16 and a coating layer are usually applied on the outer periphery of the pipe 1 in order to obtain the objective cable. |
