摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To positively prevent a lap by installing a shape recognizing device, operating a correcting amount of a leveling screw down position for every pattern of tail end shapes of a steel plate, and correcting the screw down position immediately before the tail end is bitten. CONSTITUTION:A shape recognizing device 4 installed in the inlet side of a hot continuous rolling mill measures a tail end shape of a rolling steel plate S and inputs the data to an arithmetic unit 5, which previously stored an experimental equation of load deviation classifiers tail end shapes into some patterns and operates a correcting amount for a leveling screw down position. The correcting amount is divided into two and screw down set values being in the mutually opposite direction are corrected and the corrected values are sent to respective workside and driving side screw down controllers 6 and 7, which control shift devices 10 and 11 based on the corrected screw down set values. Then, right and left screw down positions are subjected to feed forward control. Therefore, a lap accident is positively preventable.</p>
