PURPOSE:To enable the formation of a transfer image of high quality on ordinary paper of low plane smoothness and also to enable high-seed recording and medium-tone recording, by using a transfer recording layer constructed of two kinds or more of image forming element substances which have sensitive constituents whose transfer characteristic is varied by giving energy thereto. CONSTITUTION:The sensitive constituent of each image forming element substance 1aa containing any one of color materials of cyan C, magenta M, yellow Y and black K is designed to have wavelength dependence varying according to the color material it contains. First a light of wavelength lambday is applied from the transfer recording layer 1a side, while heating resistors 20b, 20d, 20e and 20f of a thermal head 20, for instance, are heated. Then the hatched ones of the element substances containing the color material of yellow Y, to which the heat and the light of wavelength lambday are applied, are set. As for magenta M, cyan C and black K, the respective element substances are set likewise by the application of a light of each wavelength and heating, and a transfer image is formed on the transfer recording layer 1a by the element substances which are not set finally. By this method, a milticolor transfer of high quality is realized on a transfer medium 10. |
