PURPOSE:To obtain an antitumor agent and a tuberculin diagnostic containing the titled active substance which is isolated by subjecting a water-soluble extract derived from a tubercle bacillus to nucleic acid removal operation, glycide removal operation, and low active protein removal operation, as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:A tubercle bacillus such as bovine tubercle bacillus, human tubercle bacillus, etc. is cultivated by a conventional procedure to give a mold, which is processed by a conventional procedure to give an extracted solution. The prepared extracted solution is subjected to nucleic acid removal operation, low active protein removal operation, glycide removal operation, etc., so that admixtures such as lipid, nucleic acid, glycide, low active protein, etc. are removed, to give an intermediate purified substance. The intermediate purified substance is purified by fractionation through molecular sieve, fractionation using an ion exchanger, etc., to give novel substance D having tuberculin activity. The substance D has delayed-type allergic reaction activity, and antitumor activity, and useful as an antitumor agent and tuberculin diagnostic. |
