PURPOSE:To obtain a sufficient electrostatic charge quantity of toner particles and eliminate variance in the electrostatic charge quantity among the toner particles by incorporating a specific compd. in a toner as an electrostatic charge control agent. CONSTITUTION:The compd. expressed by the formula I (R1, R2, R3, R4 are alkyl, aralkyl) or the formula II (R5, R6, R7 are alkyl, aralkyl) is incorporated as an electrostatic charge control agent in a toner for developing an electrical latent image. Said compd. is synthesized from, for example, sodium tetraphenylborate and a salt such as ammonium chloride having ammonium configuration in the formula I or the formula II. Such compd. is mixed with a binder resin and a coloring agent to prepare a toner, and the toner is used as a two-component developer together with an iron powder carrier. It is also possible to use the toner as a magnetic toner by melting and dispersing magnetite in said toner compound. If such electrostatic charge control agent is used, a sharp and stable copied image having no drop-out is obtd. |
