PURPOSE:To control the tension between stands with high accuracy by subjecting the torque generated by an induction motor for driving a roll to vector control by a specific equation and measuring the rolling torque of each roll from the generated torque and the number of revolution. CONSTITUTION:An induction motor is used as a motor for driving a roll, and the complex plane rotating at the same angular speed as the angular speed of a secondary magnetic flux phi2 intersecting the secondary conductors 12, 13 of said motor is considered. The direction of the flux phi2 is designated as a d-axis and the axis advanced by pi/2 from said axis as a q-axis. The magnetic flux phi2 is determined by the equation II (M is the mutual inductance of the induction motors, L2 is a secondary inductance) if the d-axis component of the primary current for the induction motor is designated as i1d, the q-axis component as i1q and the respective axis components of the secondary current are designated as i2d, i2q. The torque TM generated by the induction motor is subjected to vector control in the relation of the equation I and the rolling torque of each roll in a rolling mill is measured in accordance with the generated torque TM and the number of revolution, whereby the tension between the stands is controlled.
|
