PURPOSE:To eliminate a ghost appearing during reversal development by performing entire-surface exposure after the reversal development and before transfer in Carson electrophotography. CONSTITUTION:A primary electrostatic charger 3 charges electrostatically the surface of a photoconductive layer 1, an exposure device 4 performs the exposure of a negative image of a picture to be recorded, and a developing device 5 performs reversal development. A uniform exposure device 6 exposes the entire surface of the photoconductive layer 1 after the development. This uniform exposure device 6 is shielded so that no light enters a development part. Further, this is arranged in parallel to the rotating shaft direction of the photoconductive layer 1 and illuminance is uniform. Toner is transferred to a transfer material, etc., after the uniform exposure of the entire surface, and the residual toner on the photoconductive layer 1 is removed by a cleaner 8; the photoconductive layer 1 is used repeatedly. Thus, the surface potential of the photoconductive layer 1 after the entire-surface exposure is uniform and even if primary electrostatic charge is performed again after transfer electrostatic charge, no ghost appears. |
