PURPOSE:To measure accurately the quantity of minute variation less than submicron by providing the titled magnetic head with an optical fiber flux having sufficiently smaller rigidity than that of a supporting spring supporting the magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:When light is projected from one of optical fibers 8, 9 and detected by the other and the change of the interval S between an end surface 10 and the medium surface 6 of the magnetic disc 5 is detected as the change of photodetection and the change of voltage, high sensitivity is obtained at the condensing of the optical fibers at random. The optical fiber flux 12 is set on a slider 2 so that one end surface of the optical fiber flux 12 is opposed to the magnetic disc with several ten mu interval and the other end surface is fitted so as to pass through the inside of a load finger 14 by folding the optical fiber flux 12 so that the rigidity is made sufficiently smaller than a supporting spring 13. Thus, the floating variation of almost the same static/dynamic characteristics as that of a magnetic head slider, a product, can be measured with high sensitivity without the influence of peripheral electric noise. |
