In order that this articulated fitting is as compact as possible and so that, in a sitting position, the divan offers two different angular positions, the lever 10 which interacts with the locking ratchet mechanism 11 has two stop notches 12, 13 for the latter, whilst, on the carrier lever 3 close to the rear face of the base 1, a support 15 is provided. The lever 10 equipped with the stop notches 12, 13 can enter into contact with this support 15 only in one of the two angular positions of the seat, whilst, in the other of these positions, the seat-cushion chassis 7 bears on the base 1. <IMAGE>
