The invention relates to a device consisting of a magnet attached to a ring enabling the cast to be positioned along a fishing rod, using the attractive force of the magnet on the hook. The device comprises a split or solid plastic ring 1 having a securing bolt 3, on which ring there is fixed a small magnet of approximately 1 cm x 2 cm x 0.4 cm. Its use makes it possible to pass the rod and the cast through natural or artificial obstacles along the edges of waterways and to drop the bait at the selected point. <IMAGE>
