The present invention relates to a new roller for a stripper machine for heads of maize or other heads. The roller according to the invention mounted on the machine parallel to the axis of a roller of the same type and in such a way that the said rollers are tangential during their inverse rotation, the rollers being of the type of those comprising a coating surrounding a polygonal drive shaft and carrying longitudinal elastic strips for the stripping of the heads, the roller is characterised in that it is constituted by at least two identical blocks 1 each fixed to two adjacent faces of the shaft 2 and separated from each other by a longitudinal elastic strip 3 in such a way that part 3A of the strip 3 is placed on at least one portion of the external surface of the adjacent block of the latter by which the said strip is fixed when it comes into contact with an elastic strip of the adjacent roller in order to ensure the continuity of the surface on which the head rolls and slides. <IMAGE>
