PURPOSE:To obtain a surface covered roller having an uniform surface characteristic by applying adhesive onto a roller body and covering thermal shrinked tube onto said body and forming a surface covering layer through heating and hardening the adhesive layer, in preparation of a copying roller etc. for a copying machine. CONSTITUTION:A roller body 1 consists of a core member part 2 and an elastic member part 3 made of rubber which covers the outer periphery of the core member part, and supporting shafts 4 formed concentrically with the roller body 1 are installed at both edges. In a coating apparatus 5, a coating roller 8 is arranged so that its lower part is immersed into the adhesive 6 in a vessel 7, and the coating roller 8 is revolved by a driving apparatus, and a uniform coated layer is formed on the peripheral surface of the coating roller, and a uniform coated layer 9 of adhesive is formed on the peripheral surface of the roller body 1. Then, a thermally shrinked tube 10 is applied onto the roller body 1 having the adhesive layer 9, and said tube 10 is thermally shrinked by the hot wind generated by a heat gun 11. As the adhesive for the adhesive layer 9, used is ultraviolet-ray hardened type adhesive which is not hardened by the temperature rise in the formation process for the surface covering layer 10' or anerobic adhesive. |
