METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PICTURE SIGNAL PROCESSING

PURPOSE:To realize artificial intermediate display without spoiling the resolution of a binary picture by allowing an original picture after data conversion to have a regular distribution where its density distribution is flat, and weakening contour emphasizing effect. CONSTITUTION:A digital signal obtained from an input terminal 16 through an A/D converter 17 is stored in a picture data storage device 20 after an additional data adding circuit superposes a regular pattern thereupon. This picture signal is also stored in a picture data storage device 22. Data after data conversion processing for reallocation is all completed is read out of the device 22 and outputted as an output picture signal to an output terminal 25 through a binary coding circuit 24. A data adding circuit 26 obtains data in a scanning window from the device 22 to find the total sum of scanning window position data. A sequencing circuit 27 obtains the data in the scanning window from the device 20 to determine data addresses at scanning window position corresponding to the device 22 in decreasing order and reports them to an address control circuit 23. A reallocating circuit 28 generates conversion data and writes them in the device 22 in order.
