The present invention concerns a method for fixing a protective coating on a piece of work made of concrete. The method is characterised in that a coating of a complex plastomer/non woven material or elastomer/non woven material is applied with pressure to freshly cast concrete in such a manner that the non woven fibres penetrate into the concrete before the latter has hardened and thereafter ensure, once the concrete has cured, an intimate mechanical link between the two materials.
