The subject of the invention is a container which is easily assembled and dismantled so that it can be stored in a minimum of space, intended for protecting a bicycle during its transport. The use of this container is very simple. According to a characteristic of the invention, it suffices to assemble the two half-shells: a rolling cradle is obtained inside which the bicycle 7 is housed. The latter is held at the front by its wheel 8 in the support groove 9 and placed at the same height by its rear wheel by means of a flexible batten 17; it also suffices to locate the lid 3 and to close the assembly using fasteners 16. The assembly is then manoeuvred by means of handles 14-15. <IMAGE>
