<p>PURPOSE:To obtain quickly a characteristic point in response to the shape of stroke with a simple circuit constitution, by taking the sampling point respresenting the characteristic of the shape such as start, end and bending point of the stroke as a characteristic point. CONSTITUTION:Inputted manually written character information is stored in a sampling point memory section 1 as sampling point number and coordinates. The sampling point stored in the memory section 1 is stored in a characteristic point memory section 5 as a characteristic point at the same time in terms of sampling point number and coordinates. Then, the memory section 5 applies the coordinates of the characteristic point to a distance operating section 2 and the sampling point number and coordinates of the sampling point to the distance operating section 2 and a maximum value selecting section 3. The operating section 2 calculates the distance between the straight line and the sampling point between the characteristic point. The selecting section 3 selects the maximum value among distances transmitted sequentially and stores it. This maximum value is applied to a comparison section 4 and compared with a preset value thetath. When the maximum value is the thetath or over, the sampling point selected at the selecting section 3 is discriminated as the characteristic point and the sampling point number and coordinates are stored in the memory section 5.</p> |
