Sewage purification station of the type operating by an anaerobic process. This station comprises a leakproof tank 1, at least one internal separating partition 3 dividing the tank into at least two isolated compartments 1a and 1b communicating with each other at their base 1c, a sewage entry 4 opening in the top part into one of the compartments 1a and an exit for treated water 7 escaping at the top part of the other compartment 1b; the tank comprises at least one conduit 10 for recovering the fermentation gases, passing through the separation partition 3 to collect the gases above the liquid in the compartment 1a and for delivering them within the liquid in the compartment 1b. <IMAGE>
