Pneumatic piston method for casting metals and other materials, intended more especially for piston machines with a horizontal injection chamber, in which casting takes place without pressure at the same time as the action of the gas counterpressure, whilst solidification of the cast iron in the mould develops under the effect of the bilateral pressure, within the limits of 15-25 MPa, characterised in that, before casting commences, the cavity of the mould and the space of the horizontal injection chamber separate and then a gas pressure is created in the cavity of the mould so that, at the same time, in the horizontal injection chamber, the cast iron is poured and so that, during the commencement of casting, the cavity of the mould and the space of the horizontal injection chamber are connected. <IMAGE>
