In a cellular-wheel sluice, especially for conveying hot, granular material, with a rotor which supports vanes and is rotatable in an approximately cylindrical sluice chamber which is provided with a radially arranged inlet and outlet aperture, the bearings of the rotor are protected by dividing the sluice chamber by means of radially extending side walls on the rotor into a central main chamber and at least two side chambers, and by assigning the inlet aperture exclusively to the main chamber and the outlet aperture both to the main chamber and also to the side chambers. The bearings (23) of the rotor are sealed by means of lids (24, 25) which are fixed on the shaft (22) and into which graphite/asbestos fibre rings (28) fit in the region of the bearing slot, which rings for their part are pressed against the shaft (22) by pressed-in, graphitised asbestos fibre wool (29). <IMAGE>
