In a sanitary mixing valve for cold and hot water, with a valve housing which has at least two inlet flow openings and one outlet flow opening, and with a thermostat which is arranged in the valve housing, is formed from a plurality of expanding material elements, is connected to a valve element which causes the inlet flow of cold and hot water into the mixing chamber and can be adjusted from the outside for the respectively desired mixed-water temperature, it is provided in order to achieve a significant reduction in the control deviation when the temperature of the hot water flowing in is changed that an expanding material element is acted on at least partially directly by the hot water flowing in, and the remaining part as well as one or more further expanding material elements are arranged in a mixing chamber and are acted on by the mixed water.
