The invention relates to a tool for a draw-cut-type keywaying machine, in particular a hydraulic draw-cut-type keywaying machine, with a keyway-cutter guide bar, a feed bar with wedge-shaped head, and also a keyway-cutter bar which carries the keyway cutter, and is characterised in that an adjustable intermediate piece is arranged between the wedge-shaped head of the feed bar and the keyway-cutter bar. The intermediate piece can set itself automatically to the wedge-shaped head and is designed as a pivoting segment which has the shape of a disc section or a spherical cap. The keyway cutter is designed in several pieces, in particular with adjustable individual cutters, the common pressure point of which lies in front of the centre of the intermediate piece.
