Stirrup or the like, in particular stirrup for riding, with a stirrup bottom which is designed to reduce the sliding of the riding boot of the rider relative to the stirrup bottom, the stirrup bottom being provided with adhesive means which allow the sole of the riding boot to adhere detachably to the stirrup bottom. The adhesive means are for example formed by a permanent magnet which acts on ferromagnetic parts of the riding boot.
