The underground cutter is used during ploughing to break up the layer of earth under the plough furrow, and has a fixture (9) for attachment to the plough body, and a downwardly extending body (10). The latter body has a rear edge (28) and a front cutting surface (13). - The cutter has a cutting foot (11) borne by the body to produce a horizontal cut in the ground. At its front end, the cutter has a forwardly directed point (15) with a free end (26).
