PURPOSE:To manufacture inexpensively medical and dental instruments made of metal with superior corrosion resistance by quench-hardening a base material and by coating it with a film by an ionic plating method after carrying out wet plating as required. CONSTITUTION:Medical and dental instruments such as a scalpel, a razor and a forceps or edged tools such as a razor's edge and a kitchen knife are made of Fe, an Fe alloy, stainless steel such as austenitic or martensitic stainless steel, a Cr alloy or an Ni alloy. Each of them is quench-hardened, and the surface is optionally plated with a Cu alloy, Ni, an Ni alloy, Cr or a Cr alloy by a wet plating method in a direct or indirect manner. The resulting underlayer or the base material is coated with a metallic film by an ionic plating method. |
