PURPOSE:To prevent a leakage of high pressure gas in a simple manner without any added devices, by installing a pocket collecting a seal liquid to a stationary ring, while feeding the seal liquid into a sliding part in time of operation stoppage. CONSTITUTION:A liquid is large in viscosity as compared with a gaseous body so that the liquid is very hard to pass through a fine clearance of such as a mechanical seal sliding part. For this reason, during operation of a device, part of a sealing liquid 16 fed to a mechanical seal is collected in a pocket 14 of a stationary ring 13. Stopping the operation of the device, when feed of the sealing liquid 16 is stopped, the sealing liquid 16 collected in the pocket 14 is fed to the outer circumference of a sliding part 10 through a small hole 15 whereby the running out of the sealing liquid 16 that should exist in the sliding part 10 is checked, thus the leakage of a high pressure gaseous body 11 can be prevented. |
