Slide fastener chain is provided during prodn., with a conductive wire used during an anodising process upon the chain, the wire being carried by a guide block which reciprocates between a position adjacent a beaded portion of a fastener tape and a position spaced from the beaded portion, in synchronism with a mechanism for applying successive fastener elements to the eaded portion and about the wire. The wire guide is adjacent the beaded portion while the wire and the fastener element are being attached to the beaded portion simultaneously, and stays there as the tape is advanced afterwards. Pref. the guide block reciprocates in the plane of the fastener tape, and accurately aligns the wire with the beaded edge at every advance of th block. |
