Appts. for assembling continuous slider fastener stringers having spaced gaps, comprises laterally spaced feed rolls which advance the stringers towards a fixed binder member for engaging the stringers with one another. Two laterally disposed claws protrude into the gaps of the respective stringers, and engage the leading edges of tooth is engaged before the other, the engaged tooth decelerates the feed roll for that stringer, via a differential transmission, until the two stringers are aligned. Detecting levers engage in the next succeeding gaps to check alignment, and stop the feed rolls if alignment is incorrect, or allow the claws to operate if alignment is correct, specifically because both levers enter the gaps only a half-tooth delay between them. |
