In the manufacture of filamentary fiber aggregates from at least one kind of thermoplastic synthetic polymer, each filament has cross-section changes along the length at irregular periods. The cross-section change coefficient [CV(F) is 0.05-1.0, and each filament cross-section is opt. different in size when cut perpendicularly to the pilament axis at an arbitrary position.
