The terminal structure (11) includes a terminal portion (105) and a connecting portion (104) cast onto a fusible rib (21) of the battery plate connecting strap (18). The apparatus includes brushing apparatus (24), flux applying apparatus (25), and casting apparatus (26). A pickup apparatus (23) is provided for picking up the battery cell elements at a delivery position and carrying them to and through the above-mentioned apparatus.
