PURPOSE:To make a muffler containable in bonnet by arranging an exhaust pipe coupling between exhaust port of cylinder and muffler in a path of cooling air to be discharged through cylinder head while at the outside of head. CONSTITUTION:An engine room 2 mounting an air-cooled engine 1 is constructed of an openable/closable bonnet 3, vent frame 4 and side wall 5. A cooling wind path 11 is formed between a cylinder 8 and side and upper air guide boards 7, 10. Upon starting of engine 1, a fan 6 will rotate to discharge sucked outer air through a cooling air path 11 to cool a fin 9 thus to maintain the cylinder 8 at proper temperature and output power from a pulley 16. Since an exhaust pipe 13 coupling between the cylinder 8 and muffler 14 is arranged in the cooling air path 11 nearer to the exhaust side than the fin 9, exhaust gas will reach to the muffler 14 with low temperature. Consequently muffler 14 can be contained compactly in bonnet 3. |
