The proposed vehicle brake system which is protected against blocking has a device (1) for limiting the rise in braking force with a control circuit (6) in which a unit for determining the time in which the wheel acceleration signal reaches its maximum value and a control pulse shaper are connected in series, which shaper produces a pulse when the signal at the input of the control circuit (6) reaches its maximum value. The output of the control circuit (6) is connected to the control input (8) of a storage unit (7). The output of the said unit (7) feeds one input (12) of a comparator (10) whose other input (11) is connected, together with the information input (9) of the storage unit (7) and the input of the control circuit (6), to the input (4) of the device (1), which input (4) is itself connected to a unit (2) for determining the wheel acceleration.
The output (5) of the device (1) acts on a modulator (3) for keeping the braking force constant, specifically via a pulse length shaper which brings about periodic interruptions in the maintenance of the constant braking force.
